Set in 2273 (about 7 years after the end of the original series of Star Trek), Admiral Kirk takes command of the Enterprise again, to investigate an alien force hidden in a massive cloud of energy, that had destroyed three Klingon ships and a monitoring station.
The Wrath of Khan is set in the year 2285. The story is about Khan's attempt at revenge against Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise, for the death of his wife and for stranding him and his people on a planet with no technical infrastructure, 15 years earlier. Khan and his people are tyrannical genetically engineered humans from 20th century Earth, who were awoken from stasis by Kirk in the original series episode Space Seed. Star Trek II, III, and IV, form a sub-trilogy of linked films.
Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, follows directly from Star Trek II. The story involves Kirk and other Enterprise crew, stealing the Enterprise to go on an unauthorised mission to rescue Spock from an unstable terraformed planet. They come up against some Klingons who are trying to acquire the terraforming device (in the belief that it is a weapon designed to be used against the Klingon Empire).
The starship Enterprise is ordered by Starfleet Command to rescue Federation, Klingon, and Romulan hostages on the planet Nimbus III. A Klingon captain learns of this mission, and decides to pursue the Enterprise. The Enterprise crew soon learn that hostage takers are lead by Spock's half-brother Sybok, a renegade Vulcan who has become essentially a cult leader.
The Klingon moon Praxis is destroyed, leading the Klingon Empire to pursue peace with their long time adversary, the Federation. The crew of the Enterprise must race against unseen conspirators with a militaristic agenda, to ensure the peace treaty goes ahead.
Star Trek Generations is the first Star Trek movie to feature The Next Generation crew. The film begins with a scene set in the year 2293 with the original series crew. It then jumps to the year 2371, and follows The Next Generation crew. The story involves Captain Picard, with the help of supposedly dead Captain Kirk, trying to stop a madman (who is allied with the Klingon Duras sisters) willing to murder on a planetary scale in order to enter an energy ribbon.
The Next Generation crew chase a Borg sphere through a vortex, and travel back in time to the year 2063, on the day before humanity's first encounter with an alien race (the Vulcans) after Zefram Cochrane's historic warp drive flight. The Enterprise crew must defeat the Borg, ensure that historical events go as planned, and get back to their time.
Star Trek: Insurrection is set during the time of the Dominion War (featured heavily in the later seasons of Star Trek Deep Space Nine). Although the war isn't the focus of the story, it was a time when a desperate Federation was more willing to cooperate with morally questionable regimes. The Next Generation's Enterprise crew rebel against Starfleet, after they discover a conspiracy with the Son'a to steal the peaceful Ba'ku's planet for its rejuvenating properties.
Star Trek: Nemesis is set in the year 2379. It has The Next Generation crew come up against Shinzon. Shinzon is a modified clone of Picard, created by the Romulans, who ends up taking control of the Romulan Empire in a coup d'etat. This is the last of the Star Trek movies to focus on The Next Generation crew.
Star Trek (2009) is the first of a series of 'reboot' films directed by J. J. Abrams. It is set mostly in the year 2250, back when James T Kirk (and the rest of the original series Enterprise crew) were younger. The story follows an alternate timeline as opposed to being a prequel to the original series. A Romulan captain, Nero, blames Spock and the Federation for failing to save Romulus from a supernova. Nero travels back in time to wreak havoc on the Federation, and senior Spock (played by original series actor, Leonard Nimoy) also travels back in time to try to stop him.
Star Trek Into Darkness is set one year after Star Trek (2009) and follows the young versions of the original series crew. The story involves the villain Khan.
Star Trek Beyond is the third Star Trek reboot (Kelvin timeline) film. It has the crew of the USS Enterprise exploring the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a new ruthless enemy.

Each row in the following text fields represents one entry in the list.
Each list entry must have a title and/or URL. Entry descriptions and images are entirely optional.
The submitted link URLs would be automatically standardised. This will mean that it doesn't matter whether or not you include the https:// (or https//) at the beginning or a / at the end.
Don't worry if a title, URL or description takes more than one line in the input form. Regardless
of whether the input was entered manually or copied and pasted, this website can distinguish between whether the input going to a new line was due to
its long length or from the use of the enter key.
New list entries are added to the bottom of the list. Chronologically ordered lists should be ordered from the earliest to the latest.
If an image is too wide or tall, it would be automatically scaled.
