1. Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble A Sonic the Hedgehog game released exclusively for the Game Gear. The gameplay is similar to the Sonic the Hedgehog games on Sega Master System and Sega Mega Drive / Genesis. The player can play as either Sonic or Tails.
2. Tails Adventure Tails Adventure is a 2D platformer, but unlike most of the previous Sonic Hedgehog games, you cannot kill enemies by jumping on them. It also differs from most Sonic the Hedgehog games of the time, in that previous areas can be revisited (with new routes becoming accessible after particular weapons/items are obtained from later levels).
3. Tails' Skypatrol A side-scrolling shooter, where the player controls Sonic the Hedgehog's friend Tails. The game was released in 1995, and only in Japan.
4. Sonic Drift A kart racing game featuring Sonic and other characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog games. It was released only in Japan.
5. Sonic Drift 2 The sequel to Sonic Drift.
6. Sonic Labyrinth Sonic Labyrinth is a Sonic the Hedgehog game, but instead of being a 2D platformer, it is a 3D action game with an isometric view. In this game, Sonic can spin but he cannot jump.
7. Shining Force Gaiden The Shining Force series, is a series of strategic role playing games (sRPG). Shining Force Gaiden is a direct sequel to the first Shining Force game. It is set 20 years later, and includes characters from the first game. It was released in 1992 and only in Japan.
8. Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya Shining Force: The Sword of Hajya was released in 1993 in Japan, and in 1994 in the US. It is also known as Shining Force Gaiden II, and its story is set two months after the first Shining Force Gaiden.
9. Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict Shining Force Gaiden: Final Conflict was released in 1995, and only in Japan. It is the third game in the Shining Force Gaiden series.
10. Crystal Warriors Crystal Warriors is a turn-based strategic RPG (with a swords-and-sorcery setting), released in 1991 in Japan and the US, and in 1992 for the PAL countries.
11. Defenders of Oasis Defenders of Oasis was released in 1992, and is a swords-and-sorcery RPG (with an Arabian theme rather than the common medieval European theme).
12. Super Columns The Columns series, is a series of puzzle games similar to Tetris. Vertical columns (typically made up of three coloured gems) fall from above. The player can change the order of the columns while they drop (and shift the column left and right). Getting a sequence (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) of three or more gems of the same colour makes them disappear (and the player gains points).
13. Ax Battler: A Legend of Golden Axe A Golden Axe game that rather than being a side-scrolling fighting arcade game, is an action-adventure game (that some would regard as being an action RPG).
14. Chicago Syndicate Chicago Syndicate is a spinoff of Eternal Champions (a 2D fighting game on the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis, which had fighters from a variety of time periods), featuring the 1920s American character Larcen Tyler. The game is an unusual 2D platformer mixed with elements of the 2D fighting and real-time strategy (RTS) genres. The player controls Larcen, and he has been given one year to wipe out the six gangs of Chicago. Each gang has its own set of gameplay statistics (such as the number of thugs, munitions, morale etc) that can change over time (depending on the player's decisions and how the gangs attack each other). There are six levels (one for each gang), and the objective of that level is to beat up all of the thugs. During a level there may be some weapons and items to pick up. Between levels, Larcen is at his place, and while there he can look up the statistics for each gang, get timely information from an informant, heal himself etc. There are a limited number of days to wipe out the six gangs. Those days are used up when Larcen perform actions at his place, and they are also used up during the level. The action during the levels is an unusual mixture of a 2D platformer and 2D fighting game, in that it is a platformer with multiple enemies, but the controls are like a 2D fighting game (Larcen can step backwards and walk forwards, but he can never turn around to face left).
15. Devilish A swords-and-sorcery themed Breakout style game.
16. Popils Popils (also known as Magical Puzzle Popils and Popils The Blockbusting Challenge) is an action/puzzle game.
17. Shinobi The Game Gear version of Shinobi (also known as The GG Shinobi) was different to the versions of Shinobi released on other platforms.
18. Shinobi II: The Silent Fury The sequel to the first Game Gear Shinobi game.
19. Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Advanced Holodeck Tutorial A Star Trek game set in a holodeck simulation of the Enterprise (with various Next Generation crew), at the Starfleet Academy.
20. Arena: Maze of Death Arena: Maze of Death is an action game with an isometric overhead view, and is set in a futuristic city. It was released in 1996, for USA and Europe (and other PAL regions) but not for Japan.
21. Factory Panic Factory Panic is an action/puzzle game where you control a character who must control a set of conveyor belts to deliver goods to the right customers.
22. CJ Elephant Fugitive A 2D platformer that was only released for the PAL region countries.
23. X-Men A 2D platformer that allows the player to play as a variety of X-Men characters. The playable characters are: Rogue, Iceman, Storm, Cyclops, Wolverine, Psylocke, and Nightcrawler. Cyclops and Wolverine are the only characters available at the start of the game.
24. X-Men: Game Master's Legacy A 2D platformer that allows the player to play as a variety of X-Men characters. The playable characters are: Wolverine, Jean Grey, Storm, Rogue, Gambit, Bishop, Cable, and Cyclops. Cyclops and Storm are the only characters available at the start of the game.
25. Tempo Jr. A 2D platformer released in 1995.
26. Galaga 2 Galaga 2 (also known as Galaga '91) was released in 1991, in Japan and Europe / PAL countries.
27. Wizard Pinball A pinball game released in 1992, only in Europe / PAL countries.
28. Sega Game Pack 4 in 1 Sega Game Pack 4-in-1 has a racing, tennis, soccer and a puzzle game. Although the games appear to be inspired by other games made by Sega, none of them are ports of games from other platforms. The puzzle game looks like Columns, but plays more like a Puyo game. The game was only released in Europe / PAL countries.
29. 5 in One Fun Pak A five-in-one set of board games which are: chess, backgammon, checkers, reversi, and yacht (a variation of Yahtzee).
30. GG Aleste A vertical scrolling shooter game, that was released only in Japan.
31. GG Aleste II GG Aleste II (also known as Power Strike II) is a vertical scrolling shooter, that was released in Japan and Europe / PAL countries.
32. Nazo Puyo A Puyo series puzzle game, that was released only in Japan.
33. Nazo Puyo 2 A Puyo series puzzle game, that was released only in Japan.
34. Nazo Puyo: Aruru no Ru A Puyo series puzzle game, that was released only in Japan.
35. Phantasy Star Gaiden Phantasy Star Gaiden is an RPG and is set before Phantasy Star II. It was only released in Japan.
36. Phantasy Star Adventure Phantasy Star Adventure is a first-person text adventure set about the same time as Phantasy Star II (which is an RPG). It was only released in Japan.
37. GG Portrait: Pai Chan A Virtua Fighters spinoff game based on the character Pai Chan. It was released in 1996, and only in Japan.
38. GG Portrait: Akira Yuki A Virtua Fighters spinoff game based on the character Akira Yuki. It was released in 1996, and only in Japan.
39. Buster Fight A 2D fighting game released in 1994, and only in Japan.
40. Panzer Dragoon Mini A rail-shooter game which is part of the Panzer Dragoon series, and was only released in Japan.
41. Coca-Cola Kid A 2D platformer released in 1994 (only for Japan), that was heavily laden with product-placement.

60. Pet Club: Inu Daisuki! A pet dog simulation game released in 1996, and only in Japan.

62. Yuu Yuu Hakusho Yuu Yuu Hakusho is a side-scrolling fighting game based on the manga and anime series of the same name. There are four playable characters, each with their own set of stats for speed, jump, defence, regular attack and special attack. It was released in 1994, and only in Japan.
63. Yuu Yuu Hakusho II Yuu Yuu Hakusho II is very different to the first Yuu Yuu Hakusho on Game Gear. Instead of being a side-scrolling fighting game, it is an unusual semi-turn-based versus style fighting game. The player and the computer controlled opponent each have a health bar and energy bar. The energy bar fills and depletes cyclically. The more filled the energy bar is, the more powerful an attack will be. When the player launches an attack, a fast moving cursor moves about the opponent. The attack would most likely hit where the cursor is stopped by the player. Once the cursor position has been selected, a brief animation would occur, showing the attack in action. The game was released only in Japan.
64. Crayon Shin-Chan: Taiketsu! Quantum Panic!! A game (released only in Japan) based on the Crayon Shin-Chan manga/anime.
65. Kishin Douji Zenki A game based on the anime of the same name, and released only in Japan.
66. SD Gundam: Winner's History A game (released only in Japan) based on the Gundam anime.
67. Doraemon: Nora no Suke no Yabou A 2D platformer based on the Doraemon comic/cartoon (a Japanese manga and anime that was popular in East Asia, with the main anime series lasting from 1979 to 2005). The game was released only in Japan.
68. Doraemon: Wakuwaku Pocket Paradise Doraemon: Wakuwaku Pocket Paradise was released in 1996, and only for Japan.
69. Kaitou Saint Tail A game based on the Saint Tail anime series. It was released in 1996 and only for Japan.
70. Ninku Gaiden: Heroyuki Daikatsugeki An action/puzzle game where the player controls a penguin. It was released only in Japan. It is based on the Ninku manga/anime.
71. Pocket Jansou A mahjong game released only in Japan.
